SPRINT PNS; Post Ankle Surgery Pain
“I don’t know where I’d be without SPRINT”
“SPRINT changed my life”
“I have a high pain tolerance, but nerve pain is a whole different animal. Within the first four days of treatment with SPRINT, I could see to the other side of my life.”
Before SPRINT
Stephanie is an x-ray technician which requires her to be on her feet most of the workday. She broke her ankle and had surgery in October of 2019. The surgery was successful, and she returned to work three weeks later.
A few days after returning to work, she began to have excruciating pain. It was so painful, Stephanie had trouble finding words to describe what she was feeling. She told the surgeon that something was dreadfully wrong. “I can’t function. I can’t live with this pain, this off-the-charts-level pain.”
Dr. Musser determined that Stephanie was suffering from CRPS (chronic regional pain syndrome). CRPS is a condition most often affecting one limb usually after an injury, believed to be caused by damage to or malfunction of the peripheral and central nervous system. Stephanie had nerve blocks and injections, but nothing stopped the pain. She was unable to work and became depressed from the intense, unrelenting pain.
After SPRINT
Dr. Musser then prescribed SPRINT PNS. Two leads were placed in November of 2019, and Stephanie states that “within the first four days of treatment I could see to the other side of my life.” Three weeks into the 60-day treatment, Stephanie was able to return to work. She is now more than 12 months from treatment and is no longer taking any pain medications and the pain is gone. “I don’t know where I’d be without SPRINT.”
The SPRINT PNS System is indicated for up to 60 days for: (i) Symptomatic relief of chronic, intractable pain, post-surgical and post-traumatic acute pain; (ii) Symptomatic relief of post-traumatic pain; and (iii) Symptomatic relief of post-operative pain.
