Marc Huntoon MD

Dr. Marc Huntoon joins SPR as a leader in the field of pain medicine and neuromodulation to compliment an extensive career in clinical practice. He has spoken all over the world, educating pain specialists on the future of PNS and minimally invasive techniques to help patients across a wide range of pain conditions.
Dr. Huntoon’s experience includes leadership roles at Virginia Commonwealth University (Director of Pain Management and Section Head Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine), Vanderbilt University (Chief of the Division of Pain Management), and the Mayo Clinic (Chief of the Division of Pain Management) while actively caring for patients. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, completed his residency at Wake Forest University, and completed a fellowship at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center.
Dr. Huntoon is active in the academic world as an author with an extensive list of publications, speaks extensively on the historical and future use of minimally invasive PNS, and has served as the Editor-in-Chief of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine as well as Deputy Editor-in-Chief for Pain Practice.
His commitment to ongoing learning and physician leadership also includes professional society leadership and Board roles with the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA), the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS), and American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM) including being honored with the Distinguished Service Award from ASRA in 2020.
